Garrett County Fair Experience

Thursday night was 'Fergy Family Fun Night' at the Garrett County fair :) The weather was threatening all evening, and it even rained for a few minutes. But, overall, it was mostly dry and the weather wouldn't ruin our fun! My daughter Kayleah brought her friend, Britney, and we started out walking through the exhibit buildings. There are many talented farmers and craft-makers out there - the crafts, crops & displays were great.

Next up, the animal barns. Noah particularly liked the goats; they were trying to eat his shirt. He 'mooed' at the cows and giggled when they 'mooed' right back. We met up with some friends & family and the girls went off to ride the big kid rides while Noah & his cousin Nate went for the kiddie rides. I have a larger gallery of photos here on Facebook, but I am sure you can tell that the kids had a blast on the rides. Something else I noticed - the carnival workers were incredibly friendly this year. They went out of their way to make sure the kids were smiling and that they were all safe on the rides.

We got milkshakes from the Farm Bureau booth (nothing like freshly made ice cream!) and watched the parade. There were lots of tractors, which the boys appreciated. It was starting to get dark and I had yet to try any rides out. So, I agreed to ride the 'Zero Gravity' ride (used to be the Round Up, I believe). Big mistake. It's been 10 years since I was on this, and I thought for sure I would get sick. Something about getting older, I guess....

I'd had about as much fun as I could handle at this point, so we packed everyone up and headed home. We had a lot of fun at the Garrett County Fair! I hope you got to go!
