Modern-day Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer are really brothers Dale and Keith House of Friendsville, who were spotted lazily floating down the Youghiogheny River in their hand-made raft. Much like Huck and Tom, the brothers constructed the raft from basswood logs, which they lashed together with rope. The hand-held rudder/paddle was used for steering purposes. Weather conditions on the Mountaintop have been ideal for this kind of activity, and after a chilly night tonight (low 40s), near 80-degree temps and lots of sun are forecast for the next several days.
