Garrett County residents are advised to watch for cyclists on numerous county roadways this Saturday, June 25, for the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation's second annual Win the Fight Garrett County Gran Fondo.
Bicyclists will ride on a variety of roads, specifically the Rt. 219 area north of Accident to Keyser's Ridge. Bikers will be traveling south from Devil's Half Acre Road and make their way 1.9 miles south to a left turn on to Rabbit Hollow Road. Maryland State Police will maintain a presence to slow traffic as cyclists make this turn. This will not disrupt the flow of traffic.
The charity ride supports melanoma skin cancer research, education, and advocacy. All county roads will remain open to traffic; however, motorists are asked to be aware of riders. Bike routes are available on the charity ride web site www.winthefight.org/granfondo
