A dazzling sight can be found along the west side of Rt. 219 in Pleasant Valley right now, as thousands of sunflowers have opened their wide faces and turned to the sun. The August warmth seems embodied in the waves of gold, spreading across the acres, up and over the sloping hills. It's but one of so many lovely sights on the mountaintop at this time of the year, as farmers' hard work comes to fruition, and the Earth brings forth its bounty. Photo by Fabian Green.
